Paxman Scalp Cooling

Paxman Scalp Cooling System

Clinical solution for the management of chemotherapy-induced alopecia

The Paxman Scalp Cooling System is a medical device designed to reduce chemotherapy-induced alopecia in patients undergoing systemic oncological treatments. The technology is used in oncology centres worldwide and is integrated into clinical practice to support patients’ quality of life throughout treatment.

By providing controlled cooling of the scalp before, during and after the administration of chemotherapy, the system reduces the exposure of hair follicles to cytotoxic agents, helping to limit hair loss without interfering with the therapeutic protocol.

How it works

The system uses an ergonomic cap connected to a cooling unit that continuously circulates a thermal agent at a controlled temperature. Uniform distribution of cooling across the scalp ensures that a constant temperature is maintained throughout the entire treatment.

The cooling protocol is initiated before the administration of chemotherapy, continues throughout the infusion and is maintained for a period after the treatment is completed, in accordance with clinical guidance.

Indications for use

The Paxman system is intended for patients with solid tumours undergoing systemic chemotherapy, including the treatment of breast, lung, ovarian and prostate cancer, as well as other indications for which scalp cooling is recommended according to the therapeutic protocol.
