Burnshield Sterile Trauma Blankets

The Burnshield sterile trauma blanket is a wool blanket, soaked in sterile Burnshield hydrogel, packaged in an aluminium foil pouch. It absorbs and dissipates heat, thereby minimising the damage caused by burns, and provides a cooling effect for pain relief and reduction of the risk of shock.

Burnshield gel is white to off-white and becomes transparent after application, allowing assessment and monitoring of the wound. It is non-adhesive and does not stick to the wound. It is non-toxic, non-irritant and safe for use on children.

Versatile use:

The Burnshield sterile trauma blanket can be used as protection for response teams entering or exiting a fire-affected area. It can also be used to extinguish flames on a fire victim and, if necessary, as a large dressing, providing immediate pain relief and initiating the healing process while victims are transported to emergency medical facilities.

The blanket is made from 100% wool, woven into an interconnected cellular structure, specially designed for maximum efficiency. The flexible “barrel”-type shoulder bag allows hands-free portability and storage.
